I specialise in helping women in middle age get back home to themselves so they can live the second half of life in a way that is meaningful, fun and fulfilling. 

Many women in midlife begin to notice they are experiencing a loss of direction, purpose, passion, connection and a sense they are no longer sure of who they want to be in the world. There is a sense that the way we have been in the world up to this point just doesn’t quite “fit” anymore. We are searching for what makes us feel fulfilled again and we are not quite sure what that is. This is also a  time when we can find we struggle in important relationships. You may have  heard this described as a “midlife crisis”.

I believe this can be viewed as a special and  important time in a woman’s life for deep and purposeful reflection, appreciation for what we have accomplished so far, creativity, healing from the past, a deepening of our connection to who we really are and the opportunity to redefine our purpose moving forward. This can be a time of deeply honouring our pain and confusion in order to get clarity and  to bring about the changes we seek. 

Feeling lost in mid-life  can make us  feel alone and confused, but you don’t have to be. There is professional support available. So many women want to feel vibrant and purposeful  again and just don’t know how to get back to that place.  

Women often instinctively know when they are needing to make some decisions and choices in their lives but are afraid, uncertain or unclear about whether they should or if they are able. I can help you get some clarity around this.

Putting your self-care first is NOT selfish, it is WISE!  When we put our self-care needs first, we do better at life and at loving and connecting with the ones we love. If we do not care for ourselves we eventually burn out and cannot be our best selves.

How Coaching & Psychotherapy Works

It can be difficult to take that first step to begin Coaching and Psychotherapy but research shows that those who work through their challenges and difficult emotions often go on to experience better relationships, stronger problem solving ability and improved confidence and self-esteem.

Coaching and Psychotherapy draw from a wide range of therapies and strategies that can be utilised to create change. This includes things such as:

  • Talking therapies to help address concerns, problem solve, express emotions and tell your story in a safe place.
  • Strategies that can help identify and change unhelpful underlying beliefs, attitudes and patterns that may be holding you back or creating unpleasant situations in your life.
  • Psychoeducation based on neuroscience and psychology to assist you in understanding how you are wired as a human being and what your fundamental human needs are. Education also focuses on learning about emotions, their importance in our lives and how to manage them in a healthy and safe way.
  • Assistance in learning to come to terms with difficult changes in life or to come to a place of healing and acceptance of past difficulties, mistakes or traumas. This includes education around misconceptions about what forgiveness really is and isn’t and the process involved in forgiving (if that is what is desired).
  • Learning skills to better manage relationships and to set healthy boundaries in order to honour and protect who you are. You will also learn healthy ways to have your needs met.
